Description
Join an active epilepsy group with growing clinical, educational and research opportunities. The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health seek a neurologist specializing in Epilepsy. Person will be participating in teaching and community education programs for undergraduates, graduate students, residents, neurophysiology/epilepsy fellows, other attending physicians, and the public.
Activities include:
- Outpatient epilepsy clinics in the UW Comprehensive Epilepsy Center.
- Serve as an attending on the inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit service and EEG reading service with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic modalities including stereo-EEG, laser ablation, high-density EEG, quantitative EEG, fMRI, PET/MR, ketogenic diet, neuromodulation and critical care EEG monitoring.
- Opportunities to serve as an attending on the intraoperative neuro-monitoring (IONM) service.
- Opportunities to serve in a leadership role within the epilepsy division.
- Opportunities for a part-time VA component at the Madison VA Epilepsy Center of Excellence.
- Participation in department resident and medical student education programs and clinical research with patient-based activities integrated into the clinical activities.
- Training of Fellows in ACGME epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology fellowships.
- Opportunities for benchtop and clinical research in a productive, well-supported environment are available for qualified candidates.
Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in neurology and either clinical neurophysiology or epilepsy and committed to contributing in an active academic department through clinical and teaching activities.
