MORE ABOUT PRAIRIE PINES & THIS EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
The position of Head Professional at Prairie Pines is a unique position in many ways. You'll be working with a family that has nearly 50 years experience in the health club industry but only three years in the golf industry. Managing one of the largest health clubs in the Country has taught us the importance of customer relationship management, leadership, organization, communication, and consistency. We take a servant leadership approach with the growth and well-being of our team and community being our top priority. We all work as a team with no job being beneath any team member, rather always looking for the next most important task that can improve the overall experience for all. This is truly an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something very special. We welcome fresh ideas and will do what we can to remove obstacles and create opportunities.
Prairie Pines Golf Club was originally designed by Homer Fieldhouse and opened in 1961. New ownership took over in 2023 and immediately began planning the renovation of the golf course and the new clubhouse. Craig Haltom with Craig Haltom Golf Design was hired as the architect for the course renovation project. Craig's time spent in Scotland where he also completed his graduate degree while studying the great links course of Great Britian and Ireland can be seen in his work at Prairie Pines.
It is true that the financial investment has gone to the course and the club house but the most important aspect of Prairie Pines is the culture we create. Prairie Pines is continually working towards a culture that is welcoming, positive, respectful and grateful. No one person is more important than the other and the staff are passionate about making each and every visit special.
It is also important to note that our new clubhouse (with a proshop, bar, restaurant, event space and outdoor patio) is scheduled to open on or before July 1st, 2026. We anticipate the Head Professional will have a large role in the design of the Proshop.
Our goal at Prairie Pines is to find our own unique place in the market. We are a public golf course with 200+ members. We'd like to believe we will eventually be labeled a high-end public golf course that sells limited memberships while welcoming public play. We'll offer many of the amenities of the private club, yet we love seeing new faces and sharing our product and culture with the surrounding community and beyond.
