Description
Description:Inspect and perform surveys and maintenance on heat treat furnaces to ensure their safe and efficient operation. Operate casting straightening devices to straighten castings and work in control room as needed.
- Inspect heat treat furnaces for wear, cracks, etc. Perform necessary operations to maintain and repair furnaces including:
- Replace refractory brick in walls and hearths insuring level installation.
- Pour refractory floors according to procedure.
- Repair or replace furnace walls, ceilings, etc.
- Set up furnace survey towers and complete surveys.
- Operate Stacker Crane as necessary.
- Fill in as Control Room Operator as necessary.
- Perform all duties associated with general furnace maintenance on all heat treat furnaces and related equipment.
- Inspect and measure castings and determine what straightening methods may be required. Operate 400 ton straightening press and 200/500 ton ring straightening devices to straighten castings.
- Assist other department personnel in preparing heat treat loads, transporting materials, etc. as needed to facilitate work flow.
- Assist and instruct new employees.
Heat treating experience and knowledge of materials and heat-treating methods preferred.
- Able to obtain a forklift operator's license.
- Able to operate crane as needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently.
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
