- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate department heads and staff; foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high-quality member service.
- Collaborate closely with department leads - particularly the Pro Shop, Accounting, Membership, and Grounds & Greens (Superintendent) to align each department's plans and daily operations with overall Club goals.
- Develop the leadership capacity of department heads, delegating clear ownership of their respective areas so each leader is accountable for the performance, budget, staff, and member experience within their department.
- Establish regular check-ins and reporting rhythms with department leads to monitor progress, coach performance, and ensure consistent communication between departments and the GM.
- Develop and enforce Club policies, procedures, and service standards consistent with Board direction and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including employment, health, safety, and liquor licensing requirements.
- Represent the Club professionally to members, vendors, the local community, and industry organizations.
Grounds & Golf Course Maintenance
- Oversee the Superintendent and grounds crew to ensure the golf course, clubhouse grounds, and related facilities are maintained to a highly competitive standard.
- Partner with the Superintendent on annual maintenance planning, agronomic programs, and capital improvement priorities for turf, irrigation, and equipment.
- Support the Superintendent in building a strong grounds and greens team, with clear accountability for course conditions, crew performance, and the department's operating and capital budgets.
Golf Shop & Golf Operations
- Oversee the golf professional staff, pro shop merchandising, tournament operations, and tee sheet management.
- Ensure a welcoming, well-run golf operation that supports member play, guest experience, and Club revenue goals.
- Partner with the Head Golf Professional to build a capable pro shop team, with clear ownership of merchandising results, tournament execution, and the department's budget performance.
Food & Beverage
- Oversee all dining, banquet, and beverage operations, including staffing, menu strategy, service quality, and event execution.
- Ensure food and beverage service meets member expectations while operating within budgeted cost and labor targets.
Membership
- Lead strategies to drive membership growth, engagement, retention, and satisfaction across all membership categories.
- Oversee the member experience end-to-end - from prospecting and onboarding through ongoing communication, events, and issue resolution.
- Monitor member satisfaction through regular feedback channels and respond promptly and professionally to member concerns.
- Partner with the Membership Director to develop their leadership and ownership of membership targets, engagement programming, and satisfaction outcomes.
Accounting & Fiscal Management
- Oversee the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, internal controls, payroll, and timely financial statements to the Board.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget and capital budget in partnership with the Board, monitoring performance and addressing variances throughout the year.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility across all departments, balancing service quality with sound financial stewardship of Club resources.
- Partner with the Controller/Accounting lead to strengthen their ownership of accurate reporting, internal controls, and budget compliance across departments.
- Grow overall Club membership across applicable categories.
- Strengthen membership retention and member satisfaction through consistent, high-quality service and proactive engagement.

- Prepare and present the annual operating and capital budgets for Board approval and manage operations within those budgets throughout the year.
- Develop and implement marketing, communication, and member engagement initiatives in coordination with Board committees.

- Ensure proper maintenance, security, and upkeep of all Club facilities, equipment, and assets.
- Manage risk, insurance, and safety programs for staff, members, and guests.
