Voter Access Associate, The Wisco Project
The Organization:
The Wisco Project is Wisconsin’s largest, scrappiest youth vote organization. We run large-scale organizing and digital programming to reach and mobilize students across the state. In 2026, we will seek to build on the work of previous cycles to run our strongest program yet and score progressive victories for students across the state. This will be a crucial year for Wisconsin and we are in need of talented, dedicated staff ready to take on this challenge with us!
What Will You Do?
We are looking for a Voter Access Associate to play a critical role in The Wisco Project’s mission to improve voter access. This role involves managing and implementing voter outreach initiatives, coordinating voter education programs, setting up a campus poll observer program, and working directly with communities, universities, organizations, and election administrators to address and overcome barriers to voting. The Voter Access Associate should be someone who is passionate about expanding civic engagement. The role will start in mid July 2026 and run through 11/15/2026. This position will be based in Madison, WI and requires a significant amount of in-person work. Supporter housing may be available.
The Voter Access Associate will work with the Voter Access Director to:
Develop and deliver educational workshops and materials about voting rights, election procedures, and deadlines. Help to prepare engaging content for digital and print media to inform students about the importance of voting and how to participate.
Assist with campus poll observer program including recruiting, training, and supporting observers at campus polling places statewide to protect the rights of student voters.
Assist students with the voter registration process, including providing guidance on how to complete and submit registration forms. Organize and facilitate voter registration drives on and around college campuses.
Communicate and build relationships with clerks and campus officials to understand the voting landscapes across campuses and address issues and barriers students may encounter.
Address voter access issues and provide solutions to overcome obstacles faced by students.
All other duties as assigned.
Who Are You?
A successful candidate for this role will have:
Previous experience in voter outreach, voter protection, community organizing, or a related field is preferred.
Strong understanding of voting rights and election processes. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
Passionate about civic engagement, highly motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Job Details: Compensation for this role is $5,000/month plus benefits. This is a full-time role through 11/15/2026.
